Following the 1985 strike, the IAM opened the door to outsourcing work. AMFA has done the opposite—closing that door and locking it behind us.

We’ve negotiated real protections for our Members:

  • Letter of Agreement #9 guarantees no reductions in force, furloughs, or forced relocations for Employees covered by the current CBA. This protection lasts until the next agreement is ratified.
  • During COVID, while other groups faced job losses, AMFA successfully fought back against furloughs from Alaska Airlines, winning expedited arbitration to keep our members working, even in a global pandemic.

When others gave away jobs, AMFA fought to protect our Members’ jobs—and won.
