March 30, 2024
ASA AMFA Members:
On 03/29/2024 AMFA and Alaska Labor continued reviewing the implementation timeline and duties.
The implementation period has been a huge undertaking and will be until all changes within the CBA are
updated to the new language. During our meeting, the company updated the Union with Field Trip
language, Vacation Bank, Pay implantation time frames and action items for continued implementation.
Field trip pay at the 1.75 rate is “live” and active for today, March 30 2024. The new field trip pay codes
are completely uploaded and turned on for use. Currently, field trips are being manually edited/audited.
Future field trips will be documented via AMFA Exception Sheet that is provided to you locally. Field
trips will be documented by the Departure Time of your flight and by the Return time of your flight.
Document the flight numbers and times an Exception Sheet. The hours on either end of those two time for
field trips will be paid at their respective rates. These other hours will also be tracked via the Exception
Sheet. The exception Sheets will be submitted to MTX RPG for processing.
Vacation Banking hours language will be live and active for the Memorial Day holiday, which is on
Monday May 27th, 2024. The 10hr banking will be fully implemented for the Memorial Day holiday. The
new uniform allotment will be implemented and uploaded for the 2025 uniform cycle. Members should
start to receive emails from the payroll department that indicate updated pay scales. These emails are
expected to be distributed on March 30th. The new pay rates are retroactive to March 16th, 2024. The 1st
paycheck that reflects the new pay rates will be available to members on April 5th, 2024.
AMFA and Alaska stopped all central bidding & shift realignment bids. Alaska and AMFA have agreed
on circumstantial conditions to allow for four (4) PDX positions and to repost the TDY PAE positions
through central bidding. The TDY will be scheduled to run through May and be posted as permanent
positions in June, after Category Seniority is implemented. The new TDY is a stop gap between the old
TDY, and implementation of Category seniority and the position being made permanent. The SEA
Hangar positions are openings that are offered to current AMFA employees before the lengthy hiring and
onboarding process begins.
AMFA is doing a thorough audit to the Category I & II seniority lists. The protest period will not be
affected and will be a full 14 days, beginning the date from which the new Category Seniority Lists are
posted.Reach out to Jeff Heard (L32 ALR), Brandon Statfield (L14 ALR) with questions or TA language
clarification.
Sincerely,
Brandon Statfield, AMFA Local 14 ALR
Jeff Heard, AMFA Local 32 ALR
